Perfect Food for Man

The Essene were a very righteous people who lived near the Dead Sea during the time of Jesus Christ. Master Jesus actually taught them the laws of health at that time. Two of the main things he taught were: Do not kill your food by cooking it, all grasses are good for man and wheatgrass is the perfect food for man. [Wheatgrass is of the genus Agropyron. In the 1940s a man by the name of Charles Kettering (former chairman of the board of General Motors) donated money for the study of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll was studied intensively by medical doctors using FDA required standards (there are currently over 40 articles written up in medical journals about the healing effects of chlorophyll.) These medical doctors found that chlorophyll was a great healer and used it as such for quite some time. The next question is: Why aren’t they still using it? Answer: I’m sure if drug companies knew that if the average individual knew that chlorophyll from their backyard grass would heal them, then they probably wouldn’t be using high-powered high-priced drugs! And then, who could make money?
Sometime during the 1940’s a lady by the name of Ann Wigmore healed herself of cancer from weeds she found in vacant lots in Boston. She began a study of natural healing modalities, and with the help of a friend, Dr. Earp Thomas, she found that there are 4700 varieties of grass in the world and all are good for man. With the help of her pets, she arrived at the conclusion that wheatgrass was the best, or the medicinal grass. She started the Ann Wigmore Institute in Boston and since then has taught people from all over the world about the grasses and the living food healing program, and helped them get well from some very serious diseases. She has written over 35 books telling about wheatgrass and living foods.
Here we are in the year 2009 and many people are finding out for themselves the great benefits of wheatgrass (liquid chlorophyll). The truth seems to be that God originally designed the foods of the earth in such a way that they would not only nourish his earthly children, but would keep them at a peak of health. Our mistake seems to be that we alter this grand design by cooking, therefore destroying the food before we eat it.

Ann Wigmore recommends drinking wheatgrass juice within 6 minutes after juicing to get the full benefits from the live enzymes. Sipping the wheatgrass juice is also recommended, not chugging it down. To allow the saliva in your mouth to fully activate the enzymes, I like to swish it around in my mouth before swallowing, which also allows your taste buds more time to enjoy the taste!

The Benefits of Juicing
Juicing is the simple process of taking raw fruits and vegetables and making
juice out of them.
There are several special machines that are designed to turn the entire vegetable or fruit into juice including seeds and leaves. This way every bit of the nutrients that are found in the fruits and vegetables is transformed into the juice.
Being the fruits and vegetables are in liquid form they are easy for the body to process and digest quickly. All the nutrients end up in your system within 30 minutes and, by juicing, you are able to get significantly more into a single serving. Steaming or cooking vegetables to temperatures over 114°C will kill the enzymes. This is why juicing has such benefit. The vitamins, enzymes and other nutrients, which are normally destroyed during the cooking process, are preserved.
Water is essential for good health and most people do not get enough. This is just another benefit of juicing since it provides the water that is needed without the substances found in other beverages. There is also a benefit to juicing while fasting: Having only juices of fresh fruits and vegetables can be an excellent way for people who may not be able to handle the stress of a full true fast where only water is consumed. Traveling in any form puts stress on the body and taking along fresh juices can provide a great pick-up.
Juicing also provides a great way to maintain the pH balance of the body. Preventing the body from becoming over-acidic is a good way of helping to maintain good health. The hormones needed to produce insulin as well as natural antibiotics can be found in fresh fruits and vegetables. Juicing also provides a number of the elements that can help in preventing the premature aging of cells.
There are a number of types of juicing machines on the market from about $50 up to $1000. The very costly ones will last you several life times and are made rugged enough for commercial use. During my many years of juicing I’ve had many types and presently use one of the more recently designed wide-mouth types. It will accept just about every size produce without slicing, allowing less effort from you, and makes juicing much faster.
